What is Selah?

Se·lah (/ˈsēlə,ˈsel-/)
Interjection

Selah means to rest, to reflect, to respond.

It is a Hebrew word that occurs between verses in the Bible, often in the Psalms, indicating a moment for pausing, lamenting, or lifting up.

The demands of life may weigh us down. Selah calls us to freedom by facing what holds us back as we rest, reflect, and respond accordingly.

The SELAH Approach

SELAH Counseling creates a safe space where all aspects of a person’s being can rest, reflect, and respond.

REST.

In counseling, you will find rest for your soul as you learn new skills and techniques that will help you deal with your issues.

REFLECT.

Therapy will assist you in gaining self-awareness and insight from past wounds, future fears, and present longings.

RESPOND.

As you hear the cry of your heart, you will discover your authentic self in light of God’s design, which will enable you to respond accordingly.

The SELAH Approach employs a relational model that integrates a Biblical worldview with a wide range of theoretical orientations and therapies such as Rogerian Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic Therapy, Temperament Therapy, etc.

At SELAH Counseling, you will experience “Selah Moments” that can nurture your relationship with God, others, and yourself.

TALITHA KOUMUNITY

Talitha Koumunity is a discipleship community for women journeying together towards holistic healing.

The group's name is from the Aramaic phrase, Talitha Koum, which means, “Maiden, arise!” These were Jesus' words when He raised a girl back to life.

While the SELAH Counseling Approach ushers the individual to rest, reflect, and respond to Jesus’ call, the Talitha Koumunity initiatives will empower women to rise...together.
